Choose the Printer to Use. If you have access to more than one printer, use the Printer drop-down menu to select the printer you want to use. The Properties dialog box is used to set options that are used every time you use the same printer to print documents.

These options will depend on the printer software, but they will usually include options to set the printing mode, orientation, and paper size. This is where you can select to print your document in draft mode, which can save a lot of time and printer ink because it prints characters in a lighter text. You can also change the orientation from portrait the default to landscape so that it is rotated 90 degrees on the piece of paper.

Additionally you can change the paper type if your printer supports different paper sizes. This is also where you would select labels. Choose the pages you want to print, and the number of copies. You can specify to print a range of pages , specific pages separated by a comma 1,8,10 or a combination of both , 8, In the Number of copies box, type the number of copies of the document you want to print.

After you have selected your printer, specified the pages and number of copies you want to print, and set any extra options, click OK to print. Most programs allow you to continue working while your document is being printed. That's why I want to print to a file, so I can save it. That makes most of this answers off topic, but let me join them because my answer is better. Use RedMon with GhostScript. You can find RedMon here with more information about it. You can't add a printer without administrative rights.

Don't use CutePDF. That's nagware IIRC. Use something that's open-source and truly free like PDFCreator. I use Bullzip at home and it's clean but I need to find some way to do this without the ability to install software.

It's way overkill, but you can run qemu from a thumbdrive and have a machine to which you DO have admin access. I had to do this to do some labs for school where they did "deepfreeze" on the computers without configuring the applications properly and it kept resetting options on the locally installed software to broken.

I've never tried what aking suggests but it sounds like a fun project to try out one day. Would you be able to give us some more information about why you don't have administrative rights. I'm pretty sure I know why but I don't want to make any assumptions. If we had a little more information we might be able to find a workaround to your problem.
